“The original adhesive-free nipple cover”
I ordered this product on August 13, 2024, and received it on August 21, 2024.
I first came across the advertising videos on Instagram, and they piqued my interest. After reading most of the reviews and browsing their website, I decided to give it a try. The site was filled with 5-star reviews, and no one seemed to mention any negatives. I was excited to use it, but once the package arrived, I opened it, tried it on, and sadly, I was disappointed.
From their advertising and website, it seemed like the product would be similar to the Boombas bra. Despite being labeled adhesive-free, I assumed you could just place these on to cover your nipples and be good to go under a t-shirt.
However, when I tried it on, it didn’t stick to my skin at first, which was frustrating. After rewatching their videos on Instagram, I realized I had misunderstood. It’s basically like the inner pads of a sports bra, but meant to be worn directly on your skin. It didn’t adhere immediately, but after some time, it did, meaning you have to slowly peel it off when removing it.
That said, you cannot wear this with just a t-shirt — unless you live in a very humid area, maybe. Their FAQ clearly states that it should be applied to clean, dry skin free of lotion. I found this information through a Google search because their FAQs page on Cakesbody.com requires a subscription, which was really annoying.
I ended up wearing it with a thin, lacy bra that I normally couldn’t wear alone. To get any real support, though, you need something to hold the product in place, like a bra, bikini top, or a dress with a designated bust area. Otherwise, it just falls off.
On a hot day, I used it instead of a more supportive bra, and it made my skin itchy along the edges of the “cakes”. The inside has an engraving that leaves a “CAKES” imprint on your skin — not ideal. I scratched at my skin for days, and the rash lasted about two weeks before clearing up.

- It’s decent for covering your nipples, but it won’t stay on like pasties.
- You still need support, like a thin bra or something with a structured bust.
- If you have sensitive skin, beware. You might develop a rash where the product is applied.
*** Updates in Oct.2024 : In the summer, I found it a bit annoying to use because it caused rashes. I wear a Torrid size C-cup bra, and my breasts aren’t perfectly shaped, so whenever I hunch over a little, the edges of the Cakesbody lift off. Now that the weather has cooled down a lot, I don’t mind it as much. If you wear a thin knit sweater, it actually works pretty well with bralette. The difference between a sports bra inner pad and Cakesbody is that it’s easier to wash and dry, smaller, and doesn’t move around like fabric foam inner pads. However, if your body temperature is cooler than usual, it may take some time for Cakesbody to stick properly.
